Hi everyone,

I am reporting a OAuth/Authentication routing bug affecting multiple paid ChatGPT Business Workspaces under our administration. The Codex login flow is broken, forcing our paid accounts into a Free Tier container.

The Bug:

When logging into Codex (auth.openai.com/sign-in-with-chatgpt/codex/consent), the screen fails to show the workspace selection prompt. It only shows a single “Continue” button.

As a result, the system automatically authenticates the session as a Free account, stripping away our Business benefits.

Terminal Status Defect: After clicking “Continue,” running /status inside the Codex terminal shows:

    • Account: xxx (Free)

    • Monthly limit: [...] (resets in 30 days)

    • Instead of the standard Business allocations (~$18/5h and ~$100/7d), we are forced into a Free monthly budget of just a few dollars.

Our team development is completely halted due to this daily quota cutoff. If any OpenAI engineer sees this, please pull up our workspace records and look into this database provisioning/routing anomaly.

Thank you!

Hey @adminznlslzrjeuorg

Thanks for flagging this. That definitely sounds disruptive, especially if your Business workspace access is being routed as Free during the Codex login flow.

Could you please create a support ticket for this through the Help Center if you haven’t already? If you already have one, share the ticket number here and I’ll take a look from our side.

~ Smith

Hey @Smith,

Thank you so much for the quick response!

Yes, we have already opened tickets regarding this. Ticket Number: 10638486.

This case contains the detailed logs, screenshots, and replication steps showing the missing workspace selection prompt during the Codex login flow.

Please take a look at it from your side.

Thank you for your help!

We are experiencing the same and unable to use ChatGPT app or Codex Cli

Hi @Smith,

I am extremely frustrated right now. Five days ago, you told me that Case 10638486 was being actively worked on by the right team and that they would follow up with me there.

However, your support representative Jhon James completely CLOSED my case without resolving the problem at all. He sent a boilerplate macro response completely ignoring my logs and videos, and shut down the ticket. Now the chat is locked, and I am forced to “Create a new case.”

This is incredibly unprofessional. To recap:

  1. The Bug remains 100% active: The OAuth login still completely lacks the workspace switcher, forcing my paid Business accounts into a Free monthly limit.
  2. We are experiencing a widespread issue: As you can see right in this thread, users like @emcie4 are reporting the exact same issue. It is a systemic backend mapping failure affecting many paying clients.
  3. We are paying for nothing: Our next billing cycle hits on July 27th. We have paid a full month’s subscription fee for Business workspaces, yet we have been blocked from using Codex for a single day due to this bug.

Since your front-line support staff is actively closing my open tickets and blocking communication, could you please personally intervene, reopen Case 10638486, and manually force this through to the Engineering team?

Thank you, and I look forward to your urgent assistance.
