Feature Request: Shared Conversations
I’d love the ability to explicitly share an individual ChatGPT conversation with another ChatGPT user, similar to how Apple Notes works. By default, every conversation would remain private. When desired, I could invite another user to collaborate on that conversation. Once they accept, both of us could continue the same conversation from our own accounts, preserving the full context and allowing either participant to ask questions, upload files, or continue the discussion.
This would be incredibly useful for couples, families, project teams, bands, trip planning, and other collaborative work while maintaining privacy by making sharing completely opt-in and conversation-specific.
Welcome to the community @steviejay!
In ChatGPT you’re already able to add members in conversations, a group chat. Your personal memories will never be on/shared.
When you want to share a conversation and add members, you will get a link to that conversation to share with them you want to add.

Thanks for sharing the idea, @steviejay. I can definitely see why having a shared conversation would be useful for things like trip planning, family discussions, or team projects.
Also appreciate the helpful clarification from @LarisaHaster. Group chats already support inviting other ChatGPT users into a conversation, with personal memories remaining private and not being shared. The Help Center article they linked covers how it works.
If you're in a supported region and don't see the feature yet, try restarting the app and make sure you're using the latest version of the ChatGPT app on Android or iOS.
If you're still not seeing it after that, it'd be helpful to know which platform and app version you're using so we can check further.
