I am a physician and I have been using ChatGPT for Clinicians since it became available. Today I am no longer able to use skills. There appears to be an update. I can see the skills when I click on the user name that opens up settings etc. When I type “/” in the chat box it brings up options but not skills. I can try “@” but is does not bring up skills. I can go to an old chat which used a skill and it works in that chat. I doubt there are other physicians here but any help would be appreciate.

Hi and welcome back to the developer community. Did you ask the bot where they are and if it could list them?

Thanks for flagging this, @ClinialAI. Also appreciate the suggestion from @jochenschultz.

Since the skills still work in an older chat but are no longer showing in the picker, this may be account specific rather than something other users can fully diagnose from the forum.

Please create a support ticket by emailing support@openai.com with the details you shared here. Once you have the case ID, kindly drop it in this thread so we can help monitor and troubleshoot further if needed.

@jochenschultz thank you for the suggestion. The first thing I tried was to ask the bot. It could not separate “ChatGPT for Clinicians” from the other subscriptions. I tried several different prompts and got no where. The skills are in the menu area. I can’t get to them in the chat prompt. It is not in the picker. I can’t screen capture the picker menu that I bring up with “/”.

@Mark_G thank you very much. I sent in the email. I used then bug report. I did not know about the support email. Here is the response. Also below is a screen shot showing the skills are in Clinician AI.

I am using Windows 11 and I have the problem in any version of ChatGPT for clinicians. The Windows app, the browser version in Chrome and Edge, also on the iPhone and android platforms.

Hi Dr. Stern — I’m AI-assisted support.

In ChatGPT for Clinicians, Skills should be available in the workspace and can be managed by workspace settings/permissions . Can you confirm: (1) you’re in the “ChatGPT for Clinicians” workspace (bottom-left workspace switcher), (2) the Skills you need are turned on in the Skills page, and (3) if you’re the workspace owner/admin, that Skills are enabled for your role in Permissions & roles ?

Also, what platform are you on (web + browser name/version, or Mac/Windows app), and does this happen in an incognito/private window too?

On the Case ID: I can’t generate a shareable Case ID from here, but we can track and troubleshoot this issue directly in this same email thread using your account email ([EMAIL REDACTED]) and the details above.

Now I can bring them up with the “@” command. I have to reconstruct one of the skills that I created. Back in business. Thank you for your help

Interesting. It works fine in the Chrome browser with @ but it does not work properly in the Windows 11 app. I can bring up the skill with the @ command but it does not work properly in the Windows app. It works in the Chrome browser. It works in the Edge browser. Now I probably need to reboot and try the Windows app again.

Glad to hear you're back in business, @ClinicalAI!

Hopefully everything keeps running smoothly from here. Let us know if rebooting the Windows app does the trick as well, or if you're still seeing any issues after restarting.

I asked the bot to give me a human. I got, Cherrilyn. She confirmed this is a known problem across platforms. Here is the latest. I can use skills by using the @[Skill name] works fine through a browser. I tried this on several computers and browsers, Edge and Chrome.

The Windows App on Windows 11 pro is broken for me. I rebooted the computer and there was no change. I removed the app from windows. I rebooted the computer. I reinstalled the ChatGPT App from the Microsoft Store. I rebooted the computer. I can no longer log in to the Windows App on Windows 11 pro. I have an i7 with 16 gb RAM on a Dell laptop. I have no doubt this will be fixed over time since it is a known problem.

@Mark_G Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the update @ClinicalAI, and I appreciate you sharing the detailed testing you did.

Just to clarify, the conclusion that this is a known issue across platforms is based on the information from your second response. What you're seeing is already being investigated by our engineering team as part of a broader Windows Desktop app issue.

We'll keep this thread open in case there are any updates from the team. Thanks again for taking the time to document your findings.

Hi @ClinicalAI,

Just following up on this. The issue affecting the ChatGPT Windows desktop app has now been marked as resolved on the OpenAI Status page. (OpenAI Status)

Could you confirm whether everything is working on your end now? If you're still seeing the issue, let us know what you're experiencing and we'll be happy to take a closer look.

-Mark G.
