I have come across multiple complaints about auto top up, usage limits, and 5.6 Sol being inadequate and I feel like every other one gets closed by OpenAI support within a day or two. If you don’t want people talking about it fix the models, stop resetting people’s usage, and stop charging people for stuff they didn’t ask for. Sweeping it under the rug is not helping.
Absolutely. Going on multiple months here with a critical known widespread bug. At first, they just kept closing my issues until recently they finally escalated it. That was weeks ago and they stopped responding @OpenAI_Support
Also, another problem is moderators will remove posts that are legitimate feedback. It continually happens to me though I’ve broken no rules.
Yup, they’ve been telling me that none of this matters and sending me to their new policy for days. support emailed me and said “oh I’m sorry, I understand you’re upset, here - read the policy.” New policy literally goes pick 5.6 or use the lowest reasoning, or you get sol.
That is interesting. All my concerns via support have always been solved. The only factor being having to wait sometimes. I can’t say they have closed my cases without providing a reason or a solution. The cases that go to support with a human require extra time, so probably need to wait a bit.
Under help.openai.com usually when I see the bot is stuck I request to escalate this. It’s not always needed, but in the cases it merits, has proven fruitful.
As for feedback, it depends if a person is venting, giving an objective criticism take or even constructive critique. I’m not well versed in the moderation practices, but I could see some of these falling into the first category from users, it’s bound to happen because we are humans.
Hope this helps further.
Got the same thing from a human. But thats not what im talking about. Here in the forums, every time someone has a complaint along these lines they close the forum and make it inactive unless the person is a major contributor.
This is my experience also and I have been a member for almost 3 years. But that said, others have legit issues, with the systems in place. I wish I knew how to answer it.. But @all. We are all just users and have no clue why. Lvl4s Lvl3s etc are just users with no NDA, because they know nothing really beyond forum moderation and personal experience, which our leadership has in spades they just do not get access to internals.
All that said… I do get the anger users are having.
That is what I was addressing also

But that’s just a hunch. I’m no moderator.
And we are entitled to show emotions, specially if there are passionate users. Humans do have emotions and some maybe even tiny hearts. Tiny itty bitty ones. Like this one →
Thanks for raising this, @ShaggyBeats, and for the added perspectives from @please-save-my-earth, @DysTopia, and @mitchell_d00.
Once an individual support case or feedback report has been sent to the appropriate team, we may close the topic so the details stay together and are easier to find later. Closing it does not mean the issue was rejected, resolved, or ignored.
There is still a chance an issue may be interpreted as feedback, since different people can read the same situation differently. Should that happen, feel free to contact a moderator or create a new post referencing the previous one. We’ll do our best to avoid this and make closure reasons clearer.
Thank you for understanding.

Thanks for explaining this clearly @Mark_G
Does it take more than a month on average to solve an issue though? Do you go multiple weeks without an acknowledgement or response? In my case, it’s been over a month and after multiple dismissals and closing of my issue, they finally acknowledged it’s an issue and “escalated” me to a higher level of support. That support seems to have taken the last two weeks off or if busy, can’t send a basic acknowledgement that they received the escalation request.
These wait times and lack of acknowledgement are not reasonable or respectful to customers. If a week passes without a response, that would signal a broken support process for any other company, and they would fix it. It’s not entitled to expect a response within in a week or at least a small update, that’s just treating customers well.
I am brand new here and this response is absolutely on par with the AI generated responses i’ve come to expect from chat. What we are all looking for here are answers that are not ambiguous. Some very real numbers about usage rather than the lack of menu options you might be able to find as something like maybe fast food restaurants, that tell you what you’re actually getting for the amount of money you’re paying.
Here’s a very specific situation that i know is a problem that I am personally dealing with, that apparently many others are as well: The desktop app is costing us time and productivity because it is broken, yet there is ZERO explanation available as to what is broken, how to fix it, if it is an on going issue, etc. This problem began with chatgpt, based on the very quick search and investigation i’ve done as far back as 3 years ago. The answers we get are not reliable nor do they help us figure out what we’re doing wrong, if it is even us, or what we can do to fix the problem.
So that being said, can you provide a link to help us find a way to use the tools we are paying a subscription for please? That’s all we want, is to get what we pay for.
Yes it does, yes it takes days, weeks even months. I understand that I’m not special and there are millions of users. Probably 1000s of users with issues a day. I know it takes time. I make my report then forget it, but in 3 years they never failed to eventually get back to me.
And sometime it’s that there’s currently a problem that is there and technically can’t be solved right now. Take for example the export of images (not videos) of the Sora front-end service. It took a couple of months in my case to export the bulk of images I had there. BUT… OpenAI delivered and I got my images, prompts and all related to this to download eventually.
So, it was solved! → Happy me
Yeah, that’s fine and dandy, until the solution is simple. The big problems I’ve been noticing is that they have switched all reasoning that isn’t 5.6 fo 5.6 Sol - with out informing you in the model picker or when the app opening telling you that the policy has changed to that. That drains tokens, because off of low, Sol hits $6 per million coins fast. There are other options, like giving you Terra or Luna instead.
The best thing to do would be to tell you, they say changes will be reported 30 days before they happen. So they send an email. Idk about you, my OpenAI emails go to promotions, so that didn’t work. Then you tell support, so they give you a cookie cutter look at the dev notes answer. Me, as a customer, has to read the changelog so that i know a policy effecting work flow.has occured? That’s not cool.
You reset my usage in the middle of my timeframe. I haven’t used it all, I didn’t ask for a reset, you offer banked resets, but now, instead of resetting when i expect, it pushes my reset date a week further. As a result I lose whatever I had AND whatever time I had planned on it now gone.
This is unprofessional and money hungry, moving to Sol when there are cheaper option is a messed up move. Even worse, they know they have a bug turning on auto top off and Sol will spend all day running unless you stop it. There is really no excuse.
