Deep-tech energy startup Adiabatic Technologies has raised Rs 8.3 crore in a seed funding round co-led by Malpani Ventures and Avinya Ventures, with participation from Appreciate Capital, DeVC, Operators Studio, and UPES Incubator.
The company had previously raised Rs 1.1 crore in an angel funding round from Soonicorn Ventures and other investors in November last year.
The fresh proceeds will be used to expand its manufacturing capacity to 100 MWh annually, accelerate product development, strengthen its engineering team, and scale deployment of its battery systems across robotics, defence, and other sectors, Adiabatic said in a press release.
Founded in 2022 by Darshan Meher, Adiabatic develops custom lithium ion battery packs, smart chargers, and proprietary Battery Management Systems (BMS) for OEMs operating in high reliability industries. The company says it has deployed more than 20,000 battery systems across over 25 OEMs serving sectors such as robotics, defence, drones, agriculture equipment, electric vehicles, and solar energy.
According to the Pune-based startup, it designs its battery systems in house, covering cell selection, pack architecture, thermal management, and its proprietary Battery Management System. Its products are built for applications requiring high discharge performance, fast charging, intelligent battery management, and thermal safety.
The company plans to focus on specialised battery platforms for robotics, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), industrial automation, unmanned aerial systems, and other applications where reliability and performance are critical.
Adiabatic competes with startups such as EMO Energy, Clean Energy, Neuron Energy, and Inverted Energy.
