Please add navigation markers for user prompts in long conversations in the ChatGPT macOS desktop app.

Small horizontal markers near the scrollbar could represent each user message. Clicking a marker would jump directly to that prompt, and hovering could show a short preview.

This would be especially useful in long conversations where a single assistant response may occupy many screens. The user’s own prompts naturally act as section headings and are much more useful navigation anchors than a standard scrollbar.

The ChatGPT web interface already has a similar marker-style navigation pattern, and Codex also uses side navigation indicators. It would be great to have a consistent version of this across Chat, Work, and Codex.

Optional shortcuts for “Previous user prompt” and “Next user prompt” would also be very useful.

I tried exploring a third-party macOS solution, but the desktop app does not appear to expose individual conversation messages through the standard Accessibility hierarchy, and screenshot/OCR workarounds would interfere with normal usage. This would therefore be much better implemented natively in the ChatGPT client.
