Hi OpenAI team,

I wanted to share a pricing idea based on a problem I suspect many ChatGPT users have.

I use ChatGPT a lot and would genuinely benefit from the Pro model, but the individual Pro subscription is difficult to justify financially, especially when I probably wouldn’t use its full capacity every day.

What I would love to see is something like a “Pro Family” or “Shared Pro Capacity” plan: several people could pay together for a larger pool of Pro usage, while still keeping completely separate accounts, conversations, memories, and personal data.

For example, instead of one person paying the full Pro price, five users could each contribute a smaller amount and share an overall usage allowance.

I think this could solve an interesting pricing gap: there are probably many Plus users who would never upgrade individually to Pro, but who would happily pay more than Plus if they could access Pro through a shared plan. That could potentially increase revenue per user while making the higher-end models accessible to more people.

Basically: share the computing allowance, not the account.

I previously had a similar thought about shared subscription models, so apparently I have now started giving companies product ideas for free.

At this point, if you end up implementing it, I suppose you also owe me a job.

Thanks for sharing this thoughtful feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to explain the idea of a “Pro Family” or shared Pro capacity plan while keeping each user’s account and data separate. It’s an interesting perspective on making Pro access more flexible for users who may not need the full individual capacity.
