I’d like to suggest reconsidering the new percentage-based progress indicator during image generation.

I understand the intention behind it: giving users a better idea of how the generation is progressing. However, from a user experience perspective, I feel that displaying an exact percentage can actually create more stress and impatience.

It also gives the impression of a level of precision that may not always reflect what is actually happening. For example, I’ve had an image become available while the progress indicator was still around 50%. As a user, I would expect an image that is essentially ready to be closer to 99% or 100%.

My suggestion would be to remove the percentage and use a simpler status indicator instead, such as:

“Generating image…”

or a subtle animated progress indicator without numerical percentages.

This would still communicate that the image is being generated without making users focus on whether the process is at 42%, 67%, or 91%.

I think this would make image generation feel calmer, more natural, and less stressful while waiting.
