Hello OpenAI Team,
I would like to provide feedback about the recent ChatGPT sidebar and chat history experience on Android.
I strongly prefer the previous sidebar design. In the previous experience, conversations I had created remained visible in the chat history, allowing me to scroll through and revisit older conversations naturally.
With the current design, older conversations can disappear from the visible sidebar after I create several new chats. Although those conversations may still be available through Search, having to search for conversations that were previously accessible directly from the sidebar makes the experience significantly less convenient.
For users who create many separate conversations for different topics, the chat history is not merely a list of recent chats—it is an important way to organize and revisit information.
What I would like to see
Please consider one of the following options:

Bring back the classic sidebar, where users can continuously scroll through their conversation history.

Alternatively, provide a “Classic Sidebar” / “Old Chat History” option in Settings.

Allow users to choose whether they want:

the new compact/recent-chat sidebar, or
-
the traditional sidebar with a continuously accessible chat history.

Keep Search as an additional feature, but do not make Search the primary way to access older conversations.
I understand that limiting the sidebar may improve performance or simplify the interface, but I believe users should have the choice of which experience works best for them.
The previous design was much more intuitive for me because I could immediately see and browse my conversation history without having to remember keywords from an old conversation.
Please consider restoring the previous behavior or providing an option for users who prefer the classic chat history sidebar.
