I’d like to suggest a change to how the image/file usage limit works.

If a conversation contains an image and I reach the image/file limit, the entire conversation can become unavailable for new messages. The warning says that chats that include files or images are paused until the usage limit resets.

The problem is that I may not want to upload another image at all. I may just want to continue sending text messages in that conversation.

For example, I have a very long conversation that I really don’t want to delete because it contains a lot of important context. I accidentally sent an image in it, and after reaching the image/file limit, I can’t continue the conversation with text until the limit resets.

Could there be an option such as:

  • “Continue with text only”

  • Allow text messages while preventing additional file/image uploads

  • Or allow users to remove an attachment from a conversation’s file/image usage without deleting the entire conversation

I understand having limits on image/file uploads, especially for Free users. I’m not asking for unlimited uploads. I just think reaching the image/file limit shouldn’t prevent someone from continuing a conversation entirely with text.

This would be especially helpful for very long conversations where deleting the conversation isn’t a reasonable solution.

Thank you!
