Hi OpenAI team,

I would like to suggest three workflow improvements for ChatGPT Plus and Projects. These features would make ChatGPT much more useful for long-term professional work, especially for users who rely on ChatGPT as a strategic workspace, research assistant, and project operating system.

1. Add a “Skills” system similar to Claude Skills

It would be very helpful if ChatGPT allowed users to create or upload reusable “Skills” that define specialized workflows, instructions, templates, and operating rules.

For example, a user could create skills for:

  • Brand strategy audit
  • CRM planning
  • Proposal writing
  • Research analysis
  • Legal contract review checklist
  • Content direction
  • Design critique
  • Sales follow-up writing

The key need is not just custom instructions, but modular, reusable capability packs that can be activated depending on the task.

This would help users maintain consistent quality across repeated workflows without having to re-explain the same process in every conversation or project.

2. Allow users to add URLs as project sources, similar to NotebookLM and Gemini

Currently, Projects are very useful for uploaded documents, but it would be much stronger if users could add URLs directly as sources.

For example, users may want to add:

  • Documentation websites
  • Brand websites
  • Help centers
  • Public knowledge bases
  • Competitor websites
  • Product pages
  • Policy pages
  • Research sources
  • Internal published pages

This would be especially useful for ongoing research, market intelligence, technical documentation, and strategy work.

Ideally, ChatGPT could periodically refresh or re-check these URL sources when needed, so project knowledge does not become outdated.

3. Allow sub-projects inside a larger Project

For long-term work, one Project often becomes too broad. It would be useful to create sub-projects within a main Project.

Example structure:

Main Project: Marketing Operating System
Sub-projects:

  • Brand Strategy
  • CRM / CDP
  • Zalo Mini App
  • Client Proposals
  • Market Research
  • Content Planning
  • Automation
  • Case Studies

This would help users keep context organized while still allowing the main Project to retain shared memory, files, and operating rules.

The current Project structure is helpful, but large projects can become overloaded over time. Sub-projects would make ChatGPT much more scalable for professional and business use.

Why these features matter

Together, these improvements would make ChatGPT Projects much more powerful as a long-term workspace, not just a chat folder.

They would help users:

  • Reuse specialized workflows more efficiently
  • Maintain consistent output quality
  • Manage large knowledge bases
  • Keep project context cleaner
  • Work with live web-based sources
  • Build more structured professional systems inside ChatGPT

For consultants, founders, marketers, researchers, operators, developers, and business teams, these features would significantly improve ChatGPT’s usefulness as a daily work platform.

Thank you for considering this feature request.
