My account was suddenly deactivated on the evening of June 24, and I believe this may have been a false positive from the automated risk-control system.

I’ve already submitted an appeal to OpenAI Support (Case ID: C-5L5l4UlyPzi7), but I still haven’t received any meaningful update. I understand these issues are normally handled through Support, so apologies for posting here — I’m only doing so because the account contains very important work and research history that I currently cannot access.

Some context:

  • My account has been active for nearly 3 years

  • I’ve been a ChatGPT Pro subscriber for months via Google Play

  • My usage is entirely normal (research, coding, etc.)

  • I have never intentionally violated OpenAI’s Terms or Usage Policies

The account contains a large amount of ongoing research discussions, coding conversations, and project-related work that are critical to my current workflow.

I completely understand the need for automated security systems, but this honestly seems more like a mistaken suspension than an actual policy violation.

If anyone from the OpenAI / Trust & Safety team sees this, I would sincerely appreciate a manual review or any update regarding the appeal timeline.

Thank you very much.

Hi @redker, thanks for taking the time to explain what happened. I can understand how disruptive this is, especially when the account contains important research and ongoing project work.

At this point, your appeal is with our specialized team for review. These cases require a thorough manual review, so we aren't able to provide a timeline for when it will be completed.

To keep everything in one place, we'll be closing this forum thread. Any updates will be provided through your appeal ticket 10491324.

Thanks for your patience and understanding while the review is underway.
